Fighting breast cancer starts with prevention.
This is the message that PlaYce Yaoundé brought to the attention of the local population on Saturday, October 1, 2022.
Over the course of a morning, the shopping center rolled out a series of good practices that, when applied regularly, can help prevent breast cancer.
- Physical exercise
Regular physical activity is recommended, as it reduces the risk of developing cancer. You don't have to be a top-level athlete. Several fitness sessions a week are not bad enough. Deciding to walk home instead of driving every now and then is just as good. To demonstrate this, PlaYce walked with the people of Yaoundé for almost 2 hours. Setting off from the shopping center, the group of walkers made their way to Bastos, precisely to Parcours Vita, where they turned around to return to their starting point.
- Drink enough water
Water is essential to the proper functioning of the body. It carries nutrients, hormones, etc. to their destination, and also transports waste products until they are expelled from the body. By way of illustration, PlaYce distributed bottles of water to the group of walkers at several points along the route.
- Eating well
"Let your food be your medicine! This phrase was the key recommendation underpinning Dr. TCHAPMOU Valérie's presentation to the fitness team on good eating habits. Dietician Dr. TCHAPMOU explained that nutrition varies according to growth stage, state of health and activity. So eating well can vary from one person to another. But as a general rule, she recommends eating 5 fruits and vegetables a day. Don't forget that excess is detrimental. And alcohol should be consumed in moderation.
